You can enrol your family (spouse and/or dependent children) under your Plan coverage. You’ll need to complete the enrolment process and pay an additional fee, over and above your individual fee as a Plan member. Common law and same-sex couples are eligible.
September 1 to 30, 2016 – if you’re enrolled in the fall session
January 1 to 31, 2017 – if your academic year starts in January and enrolled in the winter session only (for coverage from January 1 to August 31, 2017)
Coverage is only for the current policy year (September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017). If you want to cover your spouse and/or dependent children in subsequent policy years, you must renew your family coverage during the Change-of-Coverage period at the beginning of each school year.

In order for your dependants to be eligible for the CUPE 3902 Top Up Plan, you must be a member of the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 who has been employed for at least 50 hours of work during the Plan policy year (September 1 to August 31). Your dependants must also be covered under your UTSU Plan.

Full-time DMin students enrolled in the summer and fall sessions are eligible for coverage from September 1 to August 31. Your family enrolment request must be submitted during the fall change-of-coverage period.
Part-time TST students are not automatically covered by a student health and dental plan.
